Thesis
Depending on the perspective, Andrew Jackson was either a great man who responsibly grew and defended the nation, or a merciless American Indian killer who denied even the Creek Indians who fought alongside him their rights to their own culture and land. Some look at the Red Stick Creek Indians as ruthless and uncivilized beings while others look at them as people trying to hold onto their culture and defend their lands in a society attempting to take their land and culture.
“As long as our Government is administered for the good of the people, and is regulated by their will; as long as it secures to us the rights of person and of property, liberty of conscience and of the press, it will be worth defending…”
~Andrew Jackson
